How do New Year's Resolutions coincide with Christianity? People have made resolutions for years in regards to weight loss, finding a soul mate and being more of a loving person for the new year. These are all great, but many people falter and don't stick with these positive plans. As Christians, each day is a new day to get better. New Year's Resolutions are very good for Christians too. We can plan to pay our bills on time this year, plan to save more, donate more to Christian Foundations and even visit the sick more. We should always be achieving greatness for each year. We could become more meritorious in regards to charitable acts by donating to esteemed organizations. Some have misgoverned their 'spiritual finances.' God blesses us more when we give to his churches, charitable organizations and when we help the poor. We can also take care of our bodies with more exercise and better fitness goals. Each year is a new plateau for 'increase.' It's not always about finances, it can also be in regards to increasing family activities so that there would be more love. We are liable to God as it pertains to how we grow in our Christian Faith and lives. God does see and take note of our growth. The failures from a previous year or even decade are lessons learned. We all slip and endure some type of failure. Even the angels of God were at some point charged with folly and errors. They aren't perfect. So people aren't perfect either. Only God is perfect, yet we should always strive to reach perfectness though it is impossible. That is why New Year's Resolutions are important for everyone including Christians. 2018 is a new beginning. Maybe we should be less political and more socially focused. Maybe we should spend more time reading the Bible on the Sabbath this new year. We should always sprout higher than last year. Our agenda should be to focus more on love, less conflict, more compassion and seeking heaven more. Maybe we should be more swift to hear and less talkative or we could refrain from the loquacity of being a 'know it all.' Let's listen more. Let's love people of another country or race more. Let's pay more attention to the less fortunate. Let's tip a waitress or waiter more. Let us not be fatigable in our good works. Let's live fathomlessly and not be ashamed to speak the Gospel as if we are not offended when we speak about Jesus. This new year can be better than previous years. Let's live life to the fullest in 2018 by keeping Jesus first and not conforming to the errors of a changing world. This new year will be great, don't you agree?
